Handmade Kashi Kari ceramic tile -Rumi

This Handcrafted piece by the seventh generation, last Kashigar family in Pakistanfeatures elegant Persian calligraphy in rich cobalt blue on a textured ceramic tile. It reads a verse from Rumi's Mathnavi

Kashi Kari (Blue Pottery) is a centuries-old hand-painting craft applied to ceramics like pottery and tiles, done in distinctive blue and turquoise shades. Possibly dating back 5,000 years, with the oldest examples excavated from Mohenjo Daro, painted earthen toys and vessels.The term traces back to Kashghar, China, roughly translates to "mosaic art" in Persian.
